Neighbourhood

 

Sherwood Park is located between Bayview and Yonge Street, and Sherwood Road to Alexander Muir Road.  It is just south of Lawrence Park, and sometimes referred to as Lawrence Park South.  The area is named after its magnificent park located just east of Mount Pleasant road.  Highlighted by some of the oldest trees in the city, the park offers something for everyone; children’s playground and wading pool, walking paths, and a fenced off area for dogs to run around.

There are many appealing aspects to living in the Sherwood Park neighbourhood. Many of the houses back onto the ravine of the park offering outstanding views and a lot of privacy and space.  The area also is a good option for buyers looking to get a little more affordable housing options than Lawrence Park but with the same advantages and amenities. The majority of homes in the area are Tudor, Georgian, and English Cottage architecture.  Home owners have renovated over the years while maintaining the original charm from the homes dating back to the early 1900’s.

Sherwood Park is close to the Yonge and Eglinton area which offers dining, shopping, services as well as the The Northern District Public Library, on Orchard View Boulevard, offers programs for both children and adults.  The popular Summerhill Market is frequented regularly the residents who can enjoy delicious prepared foods and treats! In addition a short drive away are the boutique stores and restaurants on both Mt. Pleasant Road and Bayview Ave. This is a quite and beautiful area close to absolutely anything one would need.
